(Moreno Valley) – Valley View scored on its first four possessions and went on to rout Montebello 42-7 Friday night in the CIF Division 11 semi finals.

The Oiler offense was never able to find its groove. Gabriel Tapia threw for just 91 yards and ran for 35 on eight carries. Montebello avoided the shutout with a touchdown in the last minute.

Montebello had a ten game winning streak coming in and finished 11-2 overall. The Oilers knocked off Coachella Valley and Covina in the playoffs before falling to Valley View.

Valley View goes on to face Quartz Hill in the Division 11 CIF Finals.

I think that window has closed. The Almont will be stronger next season.
