Who won
That’s why they are trying to do it with Romeo Pellum going on the recruiting trail. Back when Santa Fe was a 6 time DRL champ from 2001-2006 they somehow had players fall into their laps every season, Mahlstede also happened to have a solid staff which helped them finally reach the 2006 D7 final only to get outplayed and outcoached by a small un athletic schurr team that came to hit. Ask Romeo Pellum how he did in that schurr game. That’s exactly how his heavily recruited teams will fair against disciplined fundamentally sound football teams.
Santa Fe hasn’t been competitive since Christian Lara transferred out to La Mirada. When they got to the semifinals with Christian on their team against Downey.
Pierson is the problem….can’t coach!!!!
Oh we will see about that. Can’t wait..
La Serna pounded everyone in the league for 2 consecutive seasons. It might be time for the Lancers to move up. The Del Rio doesn’t get them ready for the playoffs.
Won’t matter La serna will pound them like last year, and the coaches and kids will lay down again
A clarification for FBFan and others: Alhambra High’s athletic director is Jerry DeSantis, who has held that position since January, 2010. Mr. Medrano is an assistant principal there.
Alhambra was at last years El Rancho tournament also…
Alhambra probably goes to this because Medrano’s brother is the AD there
Interesting to see Alhambra finally going back on the passing circuit after years of not doing so
San Gabriel and walnut participated in the El Rancho Passing tournmant last season…
@?
I was thinking the same thing. You don’t really see bottom feeder teams at these tournaments. Is it because they don’t want to kill their team’s morale or does it just prove that they’re at the bottom for a reason?
Santa Fe may be the new La Mirada. While Pierson has always relied heavily on recruits and transfers he is stepping up his game for 2017. Perhaps it is the La Mirada slide, the stepped up Del Rio competition or the lack of local talent, Santa Fe feels the need for outside help to compete. I know the old proud Santa Fe boosters and alums don’t like it.
Will Romeo Pullum be handing out his Player of the Future T-Shirts that come with a valid change of residence to Santa Fe? 11 transfers and counting in one year and no one is talking about this? He’s too dumb to even hide it. Prior contact with all transfers through his 7 on 7 team before transferring to SFHS is all over social media. The moron even puts #ChooseSantaFe.
Why dont you ever see teams like Pioneer, Whittier, San Gabriel, Gabrielino, Keppel, Wilson, Walnut at these things. Those are the guys that need the reps.
Don Lugo, Santa Fe, Diamond Ranch and Arroyo can also make some. Lose in this tournament.
CV Northview rematch likely in this one
