Kalani High School from Honolulu is visiting the valley and will face Alhambra in two games tomorrow and go to Monrovia for one on Wednesday.
The Moors will take the field against the Falcons in the first game at 11:A.M.
Kalani is the alma mater of former Major League players Lenn Sakata (middile infielder Orioles/Brewers 1977-87) and Shane Komine (Pitcher Athletics 2006-07). Current Cal State Northridge rightfielder Ridge Carpenter is also an alumnus.
“It’s the first time we’ve ever played a team from out of state,” said Alhambra HC Steve Gewecke, who is good friends with Falcons HC Shannon Hirai and coaches with him during the summer in Hawaii.
Kalani will conclude its southland swing on Thursday against Beverly Hills, and then head to Las Vegas to play Desert Oasis High School
