2.) “Whittier puts up 35 on schurr”—MVS commenter “MHS”

3.) The Los Angeles Rams defeated the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday (last) night, 41-39.

4.) “TIM PETERSON THIS IS WRONG!!! To be biased, muir will never be the same as before…

5.) The Los Angeles Dodgers send Rich Hill to the mound at Chavez Ravine tonight against the San Francisco Giants to clinch the National League West.

6.) “Checked SGVN sports blog. Just a couple of rankings and a few posts. Almost all commentary linked to Amat or Aram. Not that long ago each article could have up to 300 comments from fans as far away as the east coast. All school teams were argued about. Crazy fans from Upland, Bonita, The Covina’s, St.Paul, Monrovia,Downey, CO, Rosemead on and on. What happened? Can’t blame 50 cent newspapers because it was online stories. The site was littered with ads. I believe they failed to see the value in their blog and would not invest in the possibilities. After Fred and his once proud baby have been shown the door one thing will always be true. Families and relatives and friends love to read stories and see pictures of the exploits of there young athletes.Put a kids name in a story you are guaranteed hits depending on his family size, put a picture and you can multiply hits exponentially. It’s automatic.”—MVS commenter “Joe Pulitzer”

Schurr’s struggle to put away Whittier informs us that all the hype surrounding this year’s Spartan squad is just that: hype. This, coupled with Montebello’s uneven performances against thoroughly ordinary competition tells us that the Almont is a swamp of underachievement. Best to look elsewhere for real CIF contenders.

Their lone quality win is a moral victory over a vastly overrated Montebello..

I saw Bernie Casey play. Sitting in the north end zone seats with the Rams coming our way Bernie was split out. He ran goal post nearly every down and beat his man every time. He was a huge target in his day and we could not figure out why not throw to him every time. Every time they did he caught it for a huge gain. One of my favs.

This guy crowing about Whittier must be the half-brother of that Titan rising fellow who comes here to annoy readers with his nonsense. If it’s true that Whittier football is going to surprise anyone, it’s just as likely that St. John Bosco football will compete in the 8-man division next year. So sure, it’s possible.
