High School Softball Area Top 20

Bonita becomes our fourth top-ranked team in the Mid Valley as it shows the strength of teams in the area.

Most teams begin to get back into the swing of the season after this week.  Look for South Hills and West Covina to battle for the San Antonio League title as the team who sweeps the two game series will be in the driver’s seat.

  1. Bonita (12-1-1) – Bearcats take over the top spot with pitching and hitting.
  2. Glendora (9-2) – Carly Argyle continues to impress in the circle.
  3. La Canada (9-2) – Lady Spartans have allowed eight runs in 11 games.
  4. Arroyo (11-1) – Knights are legit and should run through the MVL.
  5. Village Christian (10-1) – Emily Siedel has six shutouts and pitching has given up five runs.
  6. La Salle (9-3) – Lancers are feasting on Camino Real League pitching.
  7. South Hills (11-3-1) – Huskies have a tough two weeks on the field against Glendora and West Covina.
  8. Burbank (9-3) – Bulldogs are scoring runs in bunches with 81 for the season.
  9. West Covina (8-3) – Bulldogs have back-to-back games against South Hills this week.
  10. San Marino (10-4) – Erin Stenwall and Michelle Floyd are part of a good freshman class.
  11. Covina (7-2) – Colts were hitting on all cylinders until they met Northview.
  12. Monrovia (8-3) – Wildcats can hit, but pitching is their main concern.
  13. Keppel (4-0) – Aztecs should be ready to take Almont title.
  14. Northview (7-4) – Vikings are starting to get a groove during Valle Vista.
  15. Whittier Christian (10-5) – Heralds will test Village Christian for Olympic League title.
  16. Los Altos (6-4) – Conquerors are too talented to be playing for second.
  17. Burroughs (5-3) – Indians ready to challenge for Pacific League as Crescenta Valley is on a down year.
  18. Whittier (10-6) – Cardinals can’t wait for Del Rio League play to start.
  19. San Gabriel (8-4) – Almont appears to be a three team race and Matadors will have a say in it.
  20. Maranatha (7-7) – Annie Sommers continues to keep Minutemen in Alpha League lead.
