In view of how Cajon owned Downey in the finals, I’d say the Vikes aren’t recruiting enough. They need to sponsor one of these events each week, and work like hell to snag jocks like Jayden Daniels to get them over the hump.
Common Two Cents. Cathedral gets 5 Transfers for Football . Mater Dei 54 Transfers and St. John Bosco with over 25 for football alone. Why don’t you talk about corona Centenial and Upland. Those Schools get a ton of transfers. I think The Cathedral bashing has run it’s course.

Good programs are consistent for a reason. Downey has become a southern section benchmark and a program that outclasses most public schools. Keep up the good work vikings. Great oppurtunity for young talent.
Downey Camp, Schurr Camp, HS football camp……..its HS coaches at the end of the day. We should thank these men instead of bashing each other. One idiots comment cant make you all stoop to his level.
no matter what it is men willing to commit time into our HS kids, which in reality need all the attention that they can get. With the school shootings that are happening in our country.

Can’t compare Downey to Shurr. Not even in the same discussion of coaching , players , and facilities. Shurr can’t compete with Downey on Any Level. Stop embarrassing yourself.
It is a way to give back to our community. Who ever Vike is a Moran. I know a few of the coaches at schurr and they are really good. It is for the community of Downey not Downey High. Grades 2-8.
Anyone can be an All CIF Player or coach of the year when the only comp is Montebello. You really want to call yourself good for beating Mark Keppel, San Gabriel, Alhambra and BG?
You are sadly misinformed. To think that Schurr does not have good coaches is a joke. You have athletes year in and year out that makes you think you have better coaches. Try and coach someone that doesn’t have all the talent and still win. Try and coach a defensive lineman that is 5’6 245 lbs and have him be All CIF. Now that is coaching. Or have a QB that is 5’7 be All CIF. But if they did not have any coaches how did they have more players make all area in the Whittier daily than any other team? Don’t say that they have great athletes because they don’t they were well coached.

if its just for students who are from downey why does it have to be free… isnt that usually how PRACTICES go!? just call it a regular camp saying free attracts any parent and allows even the furthest family to come attend! really!!!

no quality coaches? wow thats what you’re about, bashing coaches! you obviously know nothing. i know a few coaches over there that stand along the best coaches in the whole area!

really that’s nice! last time i heard… downey gets alot of their kids from Lakewood Bellflower and Compton… yeah no transfers bahahaha
Downey isn’t trying to get kids to transfer in to build a program, they are a well established program competing at a very high level… kids will go there camps or no camps.
I was there on Sunday wrestling. I don’t know when they upgraded their facilities,but it is a pretty sweet set up.
Schurr’s camp was bashed because people think their program is a joke! No real players would go to a Schurr football camp expecting to learn something. Downey is a legitimate program where they have coaches that can actually teach kids what it takes to succeed.
@ Spartan be patient. They just barely put it up. By the end of today there will be 30 trolls commenting on this. I also heard this is only for Downey kids. That’s why they have to wear their affiliation shirt or jersey.
