You’re right, we’re super worried, we went 0-3 in pool play at our tournament with our entire starting lineup, we’re bound to go 0-10, let’s not even show up anymore seasons over.

There’s a lot of conjecture about Camacho. Is he gonna play or isn’t he? That’s the mystery. I can see he looks like he thinks he’s gonna play. But I can also say that he didn’t finish his junior year at arroyo. Also Arroyo did get a QB transfer to come in. What that means … I don’t really know but that’s the case.

@ERFan gotta agree with you, maybe there a couple kids hurt. But I doubt it’s 11 superstars. Not to repeat myself but ER looked very small and un athletic. But Medrano is a good coach I’m sure he’ll get the most out those boys.

Quit making excuses. Where are these 11 on 11 events? What 11 on 11 event did ER win? No team in the past that I know of that went 0-3 including losses to powerhouses Alhambra and LA Franklin in 7 on 7 ever just amazingly turn into a team that wiped the floor with anybody. ER has been practicing for a month. Even if you have a big line you need speedy runners and good sized receivers with a smart accurate QB. Where were those guys? Who are they? Hiding to come out in the first game? I don’t buy that 11 super stars that are teenage boys all came up injured at their home turf tourney. If ER is not into the passing circuit why even play? No, ER wants to win just like any other team but they did not. Quit the excuses and get to work.

I agree SEM needs work. Saw some of the 7-7. Over heard them say they only lost to Monrovia by one score. They dropped a pass in the endzone and lost by 4 to Culver City. I know it’s only 7-7. That sounds like a good start regardless if they are in rebuilding mode. A lot of sophomores and juniors out there. They should be fine come league time.

With SEM and Rosemead down the MVL is a cake walk. Unfortunately I don’t think EM has the weapons to win a league title. Arroyo is going to put up points on their D. Their O is one dimensional. UNLESS this kid is a college scholarship kid the Lions won’t have the fire power to keep up. Safe to say they’ll get 2nd and make noise in D13.

I wasn’t going to comment because these 7 on 7 things are meaningless however too much bs being thrown around. #1 it’s no secret ER is breaking in a couple of new QB’s who are going to need all the work they can get, ER isn’t too into the passing circuit and that’s been evident for years. #2 ER is young at many of the skill positions, it does not help that a handful of the better athletes are injured, I could list them all but truly who cares people are going to smack talk anyway, I hate hearing the word “missing” thrown around because that’s not the case as all players had to be there on Sat. Of the many teams who have outplayed ER in the passing circuit this spring, ask those teams how the line work went and how 11 vs 11. I’ll wait here..

Not missing as in Mia, missing as in injured and couldn’t play, It’s just 7 on 7 who cares honestly. We’ve gotten worked in 7 on 7 earlier this passing season and then go 11 vs 11 and mop the floor with teams so eh it is what it is.

    @Sgv coach
Pretty bold predicting EM to beat Arroyo.
I’m gonna say until the champs are beat I’m sticking with them.
Arroyo will win league. I don’t think there’s anyway Camacho isn’t somehow eligible for the season… even if it’s only for the duration of the football season.
Arroyo coaching staff is just a cut above the other staffs. With Mooney gone the gap is only wider. But I think the knights kept Tovar in check pretty well I think they do the same to this kid from EM.

EM is gonna ground and pound til the cows come home. They have a legit number one back now. Expect 25-30 carries a game. Enough for second place in MVL. Placed in D13, lions could be dangerous in CIF. Side note an assistant coach said they remember Arroyo running up the score on them and SEM talking so much smack. we got something for them!

SEM has about so much to replace. Not only do they have to replace their record breaking running back. But they also had two dominant defensive ends that graduated along with the entire receiver fleet and the secondary. I hear the Oline is a strength, that keeps them in third place…barely.

Rosemead is getting back to playing physical football. Speaking to a coach he said they feel strongly about this season. The youth is talented. They might be a year away but panther football won’t be down for long.

    @Anonymous
SEM’s QB is not bad. Sure he needs work but so does everyone not named JT Daniels. I think the problem is the SEM receivers are not nearly as good as they were last year. But, they are young so maybe they grow into play makers. The QB does have a long release and I’m not sure how good of an athlete he is. Also, take into consideration that Mike Mooney is at Arcadia now, you don’t lose coaches like that and NOT go through growing pains.

Arroyo’s season is dependent on the eligibility of Camacho. If he’s back they probably win league, if he’s not EM takes it. I think Arroyo is at least concerned because they brought in a transfer to play QB. But I will say he looks like he’s been practicing. He was definitely on point.

El Rancho- I guessing they really good lineman. Because they weren’t terribly big or athletic for that matter. If these guys are gonna compete with La Serna and Santa Fe it’s gonna be because of the lines. I can’t see the kids I saw athletic enough to beat the top two teams.

No, that is the ER team. Medrano does not allow his team to just miss events especially when playing in their house. Got beat by everyone in their pool quite easily. If 11 players were missing that is a worse omen than losing.

There are a few kids who Medrano let’s practice but won’t put them in competitive situations because they need to fix their grades in summer school. Those kids should hopefully start if they take care of the classroom.
There is a rb/dB who has a sprained ankle, a linebacker with a broken finger and a another receiver who was missing.
Those aren’t excuses though, the guys who were on the field on Saturday need to step up because they can be the team that will play against Northview.

How come others are still talking about Arroyo and ER when a run first team beats CV in the semi’s and then loses by 4 to an athlete filled, bulit for 7/7 team like Culver City. Who by the way made it to the semi’s last year. ??????

That number is actually spot on, for having so many kids out the little while I saw them they were better than I thought. I’ll tell you one thing, a couple of years ago they looked like a future CIF champ in 7 on 7, they were lighting everyone up and ended up 1-9 during the season.

    Prediction for Mission Valley:

    1) El Monte: I know, just saying though They look pretty darn good. Lots of skill from out of the area. Line is always big. Predicting them to beat Arroyo
    2) Arroyo, I think El Monte might hurt them.
    3) South El Monte
    4) Rosemead
    5) Gabby
    6) Mountain View
    7) Marshall

THe bottom 3 are just plain bad

    From what I saw:

El Rancho: Don’t have a QB and smaller then expected. Don’t know what there linemen look like, they need to dominate for this team to have a chance in the Del Rio.

Alhambra: Had one or two athletes, a WR and a Safety but QB looked very shaky. Don’t have the athletes for what they are trying to do.

Whittier: Third place in the Del Rio, had some athletes but not enough to get past La Serna or Santa Fe.

Arroyo: Camacho looked off at times but solid coaching staff and scheme, will win league…again and make a run in the playoffs.

South El Monte: Surprisingly small except for the QB who was not as good as previously told. South l Monte won one game, played everyone tough from what I could see but to lose to El Rancho and be in the bottom four of the tournament says a lot.

Mountain View ditching the DW. Looks like new HC Sepulveda is wants to try throw the rock a little. Looks like two QBs gunning for that spot.

Arroyo looks a little more athletic than a couple weeeks ago. Heard they got two transfers in, a receiver and of all things a QB? Hmmm. Maybe a sign that Ernesto Camacho won’t be ready for the season opener after all

SEM has a big QB. About a foot taller than last years QB. Strong arm kid receivers are very average. I didn’t see the 4.5 RB that was talked about I saw a kid who was about 5’6 135 pounds.

Lions aren’t in the pass circuit much. But I’ll say it again, 2,000 Yards doesn’t happen Very often but the new RB just might hit the mark! In that offense with those lineman…Watch out!
