1. Former USC/NFL cornerback Cary Harris is the new head football coach at Glendale High School.

2. USC prevails in a $30 million lawsuit filed against them by former head coach Steve Sarkisian over his firing in 2015.

3. France beat Belgium 1-0 Tuesday to advance to the World Cup Final against the winner of Croatia and England.

4. Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Real Madrid and signs with Juventus.

5. Former Laker Kermit Washington, best known for throwing a punch that fractured Houston Rockets’ player Rudy Tomjanovich’s face during a game at the Forum in 1977, has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in charity donations on vacations and shopping sprees.

6. Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is under investigation by the NFL for allegations made against him by an unidentified woman on Instagram. A picture was posted of a woman with cuts and bruises on her face along with a message that McCoy was responsible for the woman’s injuries. The picture was apparently posted by the woman’s friend.

7. Oklahoma City Thunder has granted permission for forward Carmelo Anthony to meet with prospective teams including the Houston Rockets and Miami Heat.

8. Former NFL cornerback Brandon Browner has been charged with attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend in Southern California.

9. The pursuit of Baltimore Orioles shortstop Manny Machado continues with the Dodgers, Yankees, Brewers, Cardinals, Cubs, Diamondbacks, Braves and Phillies all in the mix.

10. On this date in 1989 the AL beat the NL 5-3 in the All-Star game at Anaheim Stadium. Bo Jackson of the Kansas City Royals was named MVP.
