1.The Dodgers have won three straight and remain 2.5 games back of the Diamonbacks with whom they start a four-game series beginning Thursday at the Ravine.

  1. Clay Helton tabs true freshman JT Daniels as the starting quarterback to begin the 2018 season.
  2. As of Monday morning Chip Kelly hasn’t announced who the starter will be Saturday when the Bruins take on Cincinnati.
  3. Former USC Trojan Marquis Lee will be out for the 2018 season after suffering a knee injury in Saturday’s preseason game against Atlanta.
  4. Happy 25th birthday (August 26th) to former Monrovia Wildcat quarterback Nick Bueno.
  5. After two games, Bonita’s JP Andrade leads the CIF Southern Section and is second in CA in passing with 759 yards and eight touchdowns.
  6. Zlatan Ibrahimovic notched his 16th goal of the season for the Galaxy in the 1-1 draw with LAFC. The draw helps keep the Galaxy one point ahead of Portland for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
  7. On this day in 1982 Rickey Henderson eclipsed Lou Brock’s mark of 118 stolen bases with his 119th. Henderson went on to steal 130.
  8. San Marino at El Monte Friday night at 7pm.

    Huh? You can’t be one and done in college football. You have to be either a junior or a sophomore if you redshirted.

    Any word yet on Baldwin Park head coach. Come on Tim give us something. At least who has been running the team the last 2 games. There has to be someone that stands out or that meets with the officials.

    Like I said before I’d be very surprised if JT Daniels isn’t one-and-done for the Trojans this year, leaving the team to repeat this one-season shuffle with the next big thing, Bryce Young. We have officially entered the era of the assembly-line athlete.
