1. The New York Jets hire former Miami Dolphin head coach Adam Gase as HC.

2. Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray is expected to declare for the NFL draft. Murray, a two-sport star, was drafted by the Oakland A’s with the ninth pick in the MLB draft.

3. Former Dodger second baseman Brian Dozier signed a one-year, $9 million deal with the Washington Nationals.

4. UCLA rallies from nine points down in the final minute of regulation and goes on to beat Oregon 87-84 in overtime. The Bruins are now 3-0 since Steve Alford was fired.

5. Former Dodger catcher Yasmani Grandal signed a one-year, $18.25 million deal with the Milwaukee Brewers.

6. Former St. Louis Cardinal outfielder Chris Duncan has taken a leave from his radio show to battle brain cancer.

7. LeBron James will miss at least three more games with a groin injury. The Lakers are 3-5 without him.

8. Pasadena (7-0 in the Pacific League) at Muir (5-2) Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.

9. Los Altos guard Jarod Lucas is averaging 38 points per game. He scored 54 in a win over West Covina Wednesday night.

10. On this date in 2011 Joel Murphy stepped down as the head football coach at Maranatha.

    Amat posted it’s 2019 schedule with Diamond Ranch first up. Interesting. Any other teams posting schedules yet?

    It looks more and more like the King James injury is a lingering one, something that can derail this whole championship express. Tendons and ligaments become more susceptible to strains and rupture as we age, and they also take far longer to heal in our later years. Like Kobe Bryant, Lebron has put a tremendous amount of wear on his body, probably more than the average man would do in three lifetimes. This is something the average fan probably didn’t take into account when they cheered the arrival of our $160,000,000 savior.
