A wuss? Maybe. But I’ve been through enough real violence to know that I want no part of it unless absolutely necessary, and enough to not give a damn about what you might call me. (I don’t know you, I don’t know your story, but I don’t think you’d be saying this if you’d seen the same). Life can change, instantly and irrevocably. You’re right – you don’t always have a choice. But if you do, it’s not worth it, even if you “win”.

You won’t always win those battles, you could be the one put in a coma, you could be the one putting someone in a coma, all for some childish crap? sometimes it’s best to walk away regardless if you are the aggressor or the Pacifist.

Clearly Mr. Temecula you are a wuss. It takes two to tango. An after game parking lot is not a blog threat. It is not the place to shoot your mouth off but if threatened you better to ready to protect your sons and daughters or stay home. Had a guy knock my daughters hat off her head in San Francisco, it did not end well for him and his pal. A man can’t always run.

Sondheimer at the L.A. Times made an excellent suggestion: Rather than separate public from private schools in it divisions, CIF should create a special category called the Transfer Division. While the federation is at it, they may as well give that name to the Trinity league too.

#4 While I feel extremely sorry for what happened to Mr. Reyna, I can say after visiting a lot of stadiums across the country, that the security in the parking lots of Dodger Stadium is more than comparable. Is it enough? Considering the hundreds of acres of dark parking areas, how much is enough? The problem, which every one knows but probably doesn’t want to admit, is that a very small percentage of attendees (not fans) drink to excess and the resulting behavior is what you’d expect. The Dodgers and every other sports franchise that sells alcohol in their stadiums, needs to get a handle on how to monitor and limit to those that can’t themselves. I enjoy a beer or 2 at the game, but we’re talking those that have 5, 8,10 beers. That behavior is what needs to be controlled. Or else we will keep repeating incidents like Mr Reyna and Bryan Stow.

Short of turning the place into a virtual police state, I don’t think it is realistic to imagine that security can do much to prevent the occasional awful incident when 40,000 people come together 80 something times per year.

Also, if you get in a fight that you have any reasonable possibility of avoiding, you are…well, a family blog won’t permit me to use the words necessary to describe your stupidity.

Take a punch, you risk dying. Throw a punch, you might be facing a murder charge. Sometimes there are idiots on this site, beefing over teenage sports and offering to meet and settle it like men. I cannot fathom the stupidity it takes to be willing to risk everything over the relative qualities of Schurr or Montebello.

Arroyo, Baldwin Park, Nogales and Bell Gardens will be throwing at Arroyo starting at 11am this Saturday. Should be good local competition, Bell Gardens and Nogales coming off both of their League Championships and Quarterfinal runs. Arroyo is always a well coached machine and it should be interesting to see Coach Ibis in his second year at Baldwin Park.
