(Riverside) – Alexander Peterson threw a complete game to lead Arroyo to a 12-2 rout of Marshall in the CIF Division 7 Final Saturday at UC Riverside.

For the Knights it was their first ever CIF Baseball Championship. Peterson helped his own cause by driving in four runs including a key RBI single in the sixth. Felix Perez had a big two run double in a four run third.

On the mound, Peterson struck out eight while going the distance.

Marshall took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning but Ivan Ortega tied it for Arroyo with a two run single in the second and the Knights took over from there. Ortega had four ribbies on the day.

Marshall was its own worst enemy committing four errors when the game turned in the fourth inning and was charged with six in the game.
