Tello Out at West Covina

(West Covina) – Corey Tello is out as the head football coach at West Covina the school announced Monday.

“West Covina Sports” posted this on Twitter Monday.

Announcement: Coach Tello will not be continuing as our head football coach. Our search will begin immediately, and we plan to have a new coach in place before winter break. Interested applicants can email AD brian.barnes@wcusd.org

Tello replaced Mike Maggiore who resigned after the 2017 season. The Bulldogs went 4-16 in the two years under Tello and missed the playoffs both seasons. West Covina went 1-9 this past season with the one victory coming against Walnut on October 25.

    I’m pretty sure Mike Maggiore is coming back, he’s a great coach will be a quick turnaround.
