1. College Football Playoffs set: #1 LSU vs. #4 Oklahoma; #2 Ohio State vs. #3 Clemson.

2. Mississippi names Lane Kiffin new head coach.

3. Memphis head coach Mike Norvell will take over as head coach at Florida State.

4. The Rams beat the Seattle Seahawks 28-12 on Sunday Night Football to improve to 8-5.

5. The Washington Nationals signed Howie Kendrick to a one-year, $6.25 million deal.

6. Through the first seven games of the season Covina guard Rudy Suarez Jr. is averaging 27.1 points per game which is 7th in the state according to MaxPreps.

7. USC will play Iowa in the Holiday Bowl December 27th in San Diego.

8. The Chargers beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 45-10 to improve to 5-8 on the year.

9. The San Francisco 49ers improved to 11-2 as they beat the New Orleans Saints (10-3) 48-46 on a 30-yard field goal by Robbie Gould with 2 seconds left.

10. The 15th annual Covina Classic basketball Tournament begins Monday. Games will be played at Covina and South Hills High Schools.
