    1. If you are a woman or a man that voted for Trump, just remember to keep those legs wide or make sure your daughter, GF, or wife for is ready for all the misogynists. Remember what he said, they (meaning women)all want it and expect to get grabbed.

    2. Killing young children with bombs of napalm, rockets and missiles are less painful than an abortion because those babies are American.

    3. The 28th Amendment: all birth parents will have the right to abort all children from conception until 18 years of age with no penalties and will get a bonus tax credit for saving all of us tax payers for future housing, food and medical needs.

Hi this is Carla. Because Carla was too ignorant to use birth control or practice abstinence she is now pregnant. Carla is also upset because her boyfriend left her when she told him she was pregnant and now she can’t afford to have a baby because she just got fired from her job at Taco Bell.

Despite all the evidence to the contrary, Carla has never done any research and thinks the baby is not a human life but instead a disposable inconvenience so she decides to abort it.

Now Carla has no boyfriend, no job and no baby. Now Carla is not only ignorant but also a baby killer. Don’t be Carla.

    Holy hell! WTF happened here?!

Okay, I don’t have time for this, but allow me to point out some things.

Obama: Expanded on Bush II’s wars and bailing out of “too big to fail” corporations. Obamacare (I’ve read and broken it down in its ever-expanding entirety) is a policy designed to shrink down competition (and it has) in the insurance game. There’s nothing socialist about it, in case anyone is tempted.

Also, Obama earned the moniker ‘Deporter-in-Chief,” as well as being something of a mass murderer of civilians, as his drone strikes (following the latter point) killed thousands while only hitting 10s of intended targets.

Trump: Take a look at the countries on his “travel ban”. You will see that the list includes countries responsible for something like (as of last year when I looked, the number could have changed) 8 0r 9 fatalities from terrorist-linked attacks. How the countries not on the list? Thousands of deaths from terror-based attacks! The lead contributor being Saudi Arabia with whom Trump appears to hold some shady dealings. How is that “protecting [America]”?

By the way, as for (a) terrorism, (b) illegal immigration, and (c) refugees, I suggest many of you pay a visit to CIA.gov and/or make a request on your behalf via the FOIA (.gov). Do this, and you’ll realize that the U.S.’s hands are not exactly clean as far the (at minimum) the precedent that was set in nations relevant to matters (a-c). Read it yourselves.

As for abortion and “killing babies” is of concern, allow me to pose a thought experiment.
Argument: We ought to give bestow moral consideration to one who we know has full moral agency and desires.
Let’s meet a woman named Carla. Carla is, let’s say, six weeks pregnant. Carla fears she cannot or will not (for whatever reason) afford the six week old embryo. Therefore, it appears unlikely (already) that the embryo has a future like ours (FLO, as per Marquise) waiting for it. The embryo at this juncture, though, likely does not mind, for it has no sex, no sense of self, and no ability to feel optimism, pain, or anything. The embryo lacks sentience, as research suggests it will not hold such a thing until 22-24 weeks (if not more) from now. Granted, we cannot know this lack of sentience for certain inasmuch as cannot assume it has it–given the evidence. Perhaps all we can have is “faith” about what Embryo has or does not, or what it is or is not. Therefore, we do not know for certain if the Embryo has full moral agency and desires. But we do know one thing: Carla has full moral agency and desires.

Therefore: we know (more than what faith permits), that Carla’s desires ought to be respected, but we cannot say that about the embryo.

Most of the stuff we discuss here matters, whether it’s about sports or politics. I believe that an honest and respectful debate can be informative and helpful.
I don’t think there’ll be too many dull moments in 2020; it should be a memorable year. (In what way remains to be seen, and how the coming days and months will be viewed could depend greatly on the eyes of the beholder.)
We can disagree on things, but it’s important not to inaccurately characterize the people whom we’re debating.
All of us on this site enjoy sports, and, when it comes to politics, I believe that the vast majority of us want a government that serves we Americans and residents of California well.
We have a lot of common interests, but “the devil is in the details.” Thank you, Tim, for providing us this forum. Good night, and good luck to everyone.

The economy was saved by Obama and all credit goes to him. Trump made big business better by removing all green sanctions and making billionaires richer. It is pro choice. Blame the women who chose abortions which studies show Republican women have abortions at a higher rate than Democratic. You are right Trump can do things no one else will like make 40% of the US avowed racists.

@ Panther Pride: You should have more respect for women. A line like, “He got punked!” would be far more appropriate.

@ Danyelle Harris: I give you kudos for having the courage to use your real name, unlike some others who make disparaging comments while hiding behind pseudonyms.
There’s a raging debate over the accuracy of the economic stats that are cited by the President and his supporters, but I’m willing to give you the benefit of the doubt on at least some of that. Even experts in the field of economics frequently disagree.
Also, I didn’t say that there hasn’t been ANY economic benefit under Trump, but you should admit that he has a habit of exaggerating and taking all of the credit for himself.

I would like to set the record straight on some of your other assertions:
I have never liked Hillary Clinton, and she’s one of the main reasons why Trump is in the White House today. And, I lost a lot of respect for President Bill Clinton when he issued some unconscionable pardons just before he left office in 2001. (Perhaps President Trump just took a page out of Clinton’s book when it comes to pardons?)
If you want to get into Bill Clinton’s personal foibles, well then, Trump’s could possibly make his pale by comparison. The two certainly would be competitive at the very least.
I don’t support Joe Biden, and I don’t have any intention of doing so. He’s way too gaffe-prone, he’s well past his prime, and he’s a little too well-connected to the big money for my liking.
On a personal note, someone of your intelligence shouldn’t have to resort to name-calling. That’s a degrading practice all the way around.
I would never call all Republicans trash. I actually complimented a couple of them in my last post, and I’ll throw in Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Taft, and Eisenhower for good measure. Even Reagan had his moments. They all stood for something greater than themselves.
We can agree to disagree on abortion; I believe that it’s necessary in some situations but not always. Our society should do a better job of dealing with the underlying causes such as poverty, the lack of access for some to contraception, and a lack of education and/or morals.
I’ve been politically involved since I was in high school nearly half a century ago, and I’ve spent a lot of time in and out of school studying politics, government, history, and current events. But, yeah, it’s convenient to call people you don’t know ignorant and stupid because you disagree with them.
And, Trump’s impeachment was real; it was based on witness testimony (which was under oath) and evidence that was presented to the House of Representatives. However, he got his acquittal in the Senate because that chamber is controlled by his party and Majority Leader McConnell fast-tracked the trial, forbidding any additional testimony or evidence.
That’s justice in America for you. The truth doesn’t matter if you’re well-connected enough.

@Vrooman- President Trump takes credit because all the accomplishments came under HIS administration. Not a previous one. 4 million jobs created; more Americans employed now than ever recorded; Manufacturing jobs more than 400,000 since he took office; economic growth at 4.2 %; Women’s unemployment lowest rate ever; African American unemployment lowest ever recorded…I could go on and on but I don’t want to embarrass you. You say he cheats and lies but you have zero evidence. Just like the idiots that tried to impeach him. What an embarrassing joke that was!

Did you see that group of clowns on stage the other night? Everybody bashing each other to try to make themselves look good. Cheats and liars? That would be Joe Biden and your girl Hillary Clinton. And do we really need to get into the garbage that Bill Clinton was involved in? All your party…straight garbage.

But all that being said you know what is really disgusting? You support a party that kills over 320,000 babies per year…and that’s just through planned parenthood. That’s not just disgusting, it’s sick!! That alone destroys any credibility the dems try to obtain.

Stick to sports. You know nothing about politics. And please, please stop supporting killing babies.

@ Rams Fan: The economy had good fundamentals again well before 2017, largely thanks to the Obama Administration and Congress taking swift action in early 2009 to stave off a second Great Depression. Unfortunately, we still had to endure our worst economic recession since the early 1930’s.
Just give a little credit where it’s due. One of President Trump’s most disgusting traits is his constantly taking credit for other people’s achievements and contributions to our society.
And, if you’ve looked into Trump’s climb to power at all, you would’ve learned by now that he has built his careers in business and politics largely through shady dealings and fraud. The number of documented lies that this president has told is staggering.
Although I happen to be a Democrat, I would gladly support a Republican running against Trump if that were my only choice. Mitt Romney comes to mind, and John McCain would have been a good alternative if he were still alive.
Donald Trump has set the bar abysmally low when it comes to the conduct of U.S. presidents. Politics aside, he is a disgraceful individual who has no decency or integrity. He has had to cheat, and have others cheat for him, in order to get ahead.
I’d be the first to tell you that Trump, as chief executive and commander-in-chief, has an enormous amount of power. Having that much power in the hands of such a blatantly self-serving and dishonest individual is scary.
Trump has done everything he can to broaden his own powers and avoid accountability for his actions. I don’t want our government to ever be run by an authoritarian leader, but that’s the direction we’re heading in now.

I find it hilarious that someone will always bring Trumps name into a conversation that mentions cheating or dishonesty. But yet I’ve heard no one say that they are worse off than they were 3 years ago. I personally am a lot closer to retirement that I was 3 years ago with a 401k that has pretty much grown 30% in 3 years and for that I thank Trump. And Ron because he’s President he can do things no one else can, not even you. So until the republicans or democrats can find someone who can put together an intelligent sentence or offers the country a better future, Trump will be our President for another 4 years. I return you to your regular programming.

Jerry Rice is an admitted cheater himself. He admitted to using stickum on ESPN in 2015 to catch passes his whole career even though the substance was banned in 1981. His comment “A lot of people did it”. Sounds like something Trump would say.

The crime for which DeBartolo was hung was paying a $400,000 bribe to Louisiana governor Edwin Edwards in exchange for a riverboat gambling license. What a joke. How many other business deals involve payoffs and kickbacks? That’s just the way things get done in this world. The real crime is that government officials sit on their high thrones, selling freedom to engage in business activity that ought to be open for anybody.
