1. Daishen Nix, a five-star point guard from Trinity International School in Nevada, has de-committed from UCLA to join the G League.

2. The Lakers received 4.6 million from the Payment Protection Loan Program funded by the government to help small businesses during the COVID 19 crisis. They have since returned the funds.

3. The NBA pushed back its original plan to allow its players to reenter team facilities for voluntary workouts from May 1 to May 8.

4. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston signed a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints.

5. San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Joe Staley announced his retirement after a 13-year career.

6. Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr said that his team is operating as if this season is over.

7. On this day in 1981 the New Orleans Saints selected South Carolina running back George Rogers with the number one overall pick in the NFL draft.

8. Also on this day in 1986 Auburn running back Bo Jackson was taken number one overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

9. Tennis great Andre Agassi turns 49 today.

    It’s not enough to say the Lakers “gave the money back.” The ticket-buying public needs to know why the team applied for the freebie in the first place. If the sordid act hadn’t been exposed, Jeannie and Rob would have been just fine with taking the cash.
