@OVC you are right buddy. If El Monte doesn’t have the new DBs its a repeat of they year before when they lost in the semis. The key players they added on where the difference. All though Booth got all the attention deservingly so, everyone knows they don’t win without the new players.

The weakest Team that Elmonte will face is Arroyo.

You can’t say that for sure. Nobody can! Unfortunately there will always be that doubt.

El Monte is MVL champion, CIF Div XII champion, CIF Southern Regional champion,
CIF STATE CHAMPION. THEY EARNED ALL THOSE TITLES
Every team they faced got smacked. Adelanto might have been a good game, but football is also played between the ears. You have to be smart enough not to have a brawl at your game. Talk crap all you want about El Monte but add “State Champion El Monte Lions” at the beginning.

Don’t tell anyone I am an ARROYO fan.

Serra San Diego was a better team. EM was a totally different team with their DBs this past year. It would of been EM by at least two scores. I have no doubt about it. We played both the last two years.

El Monte earned it all but they will always have to deal with the fact that they won the CIF title by forfeit. I feel the reason people bring it up is because Adelanto was a good team and you can’t say for sure El Monte would have beat them. Adelanto was probably the favorite.

He’s referring to the sub-head, where you refer to them as “CIF Champion”.

Weird though, isn’t it, that we refer to winning a sectional title as “CIF”, while we refer to the entire California Interscholastic Federation as “State”.

To be a bit more literal, El Monte won the sectional championship by forfeit (hardly their fault), and then had the opportunity to win the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) championship on the field. (In CRESCENT City; Redwood City is in San Mateo County and would have been a much easier and less interesting drive).

I wonder if this happens in the other sections, where a statewide organization is used to refer only to the local part of it, or if it’s just a Southern Section thing.

Sorry Tim, but I misidentified the title it was under the picture of Jessie. By the way he is a great guy and it was no disrespect to El Monte. But Really?

He probably missed it due to the fake piped in crowd noise and the fake cardboard fans distracted him..

While we are at it, the teams need to get more creative, using things like train whistles, dogs barkng, toilets flushing and other annoying sounds to get a real home field advantage.

How about the sound track from Damn Yankees? Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Gets. why not?

Firstly, I am not a lover of El Monte football. I do however respect what they accomplished last year and props they deserve. El Monte did win the CIF Division 5 AA California State Football Championship. To get there they won the CIF State Regional Bowl Championship. They were there because of no fault of their own They were given the CIFSS Division 12 Championship by forfeit. Don’t you think that rather one of the other State CIF Bowl Championships are a better title for the article, especially, since they went all the way to Redwood City and destroyed their opponent. But, you chose to use the CIFSS title to defend that championship and they did not even win it. I would bet my left testicle that if this was your Baby Bluemers Arroyo Knights you would have used the State Championship title line and not the title line you used; you Homers! 🤣🤣🤣
From T Peterson: What are you reading? The title says “El Monte Football Schedule”
