Norwalk Pounds Bellflower

By George Hernandez

(Norwalk) – Norwalk scored on every possession using its double wing offense and rolled to a 49-8 victory over Bellflower Friday night at Norwalk high school.

On homecoming night with the likes of former Lancers Dillon Faamatau (Oklahoma), Brione Penny (San Diego State) and former head coach Jesse Ceniceros in attendance, they looked like Norwalk of old.

Bellflower got the ball first but was forced to punt. Lancers didn’t waste any time when Jonathan Goodloe took it 57-yards to paydirt.

Another Bucs punt led to a David Herrera 14-yard touchdown after a 60-yard drive to make it 14-0.

Goodloe scored twice in the second quarter and quarterback Caden Barnhill hit Jason Lopez putting the Lancers up 35-0 at the half.

It was a more of the same for Norwalk the second half as Herrera found the end zone for the second time midway through the third quarter and Sam Aguirre capped off the scoring for Norwalk late in the fourth with a five yard power into the end zone.

Bellflower put some points on the board with just over a minute left in the game when Adonis Thomas found a wide open Tywon Taylor and got the two point conversion putting the final score at 49-8.

Norwalk (5-2) will play Firebaugh next week and Bellflower (1-4) will stay on the road and head to Pomona.
