Schurr's Chris Chiaromonte says the Spartans are going to be alright.

T-Minus-70 Days until “The Mid Valley Classic”

Good Morning!

Azusa’s Abraham Ochoa? I’m buying.

I know Chris Bosh is tempting…and if you can sign him, sign him…but if I’m the Lakers I don’t know if I’m too hot on dealing Andrew Bynum right now in a sign and trade. I’m sure is value is rapidly depreciating because of his annual knee injury, but he’s a legit big man in a league void of legit big men.

Bosh is a four, slash five, while Bynum (who put it all on the line this post-season) is a definite at the five spot.

The Angels won last night, and it pains me to give them any space here in my 600-word budget… but I guess the Rangers Vlad Guerrero answered my question from yesterday when he went yard.

Last Add NBA: So do you take less to win a title? If Dirk Nowitzki is opting out of 21.5 million with Dallas to hunt for a better opportunity to win a title for less money, I’m down. If he’s going for a bigger contract, then he’s not serious about winning a title.

I’m for guys making all the dough they can, but if you are going to suck up all the dough of a franchise how do you expect to win?

Really Last Add NBA: Jason Kidd is quoted as saying that Nowitzki wants to be wined and dined by other NBA teams because he never experienced being recruited after going from the German national team to the NBA as a teenager. The same has been reported about LeBron James wanting to experience this.

My question: How old are these guys? Does maturity ever come into play? Do they ever grow up? An adult male, being paid millions, opts out on his contract because he wants to experience courtship…Man, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Now Scottie Pippen is nearly bankrupt. His purchase of a Gulf Stream jet sort of set him back a bit. I understand a personal jet is a necessity in life. I couldn’t get by without mine.

Rowland wide receiver Oscar Gonzalez caught everything at a an Arroyo toss yesterday. Everything. If a plane from the local airport hand thrown a kitchen sink out the window over Bergstrom…Gonzalez would have caught it.

It was fun watching eternal Raider Leonardo Freeman not play Tuesday…he was involved even though he was resting with a slight hamstring issue…”You gotta help him out,” he said to his teammates in regards to quarterback Michael Ball. “You need to call out, let him know you’re open, you feeling me?”

Rowland’s quarterback coach this season is former Los Altos HC Felipe Aguilar.

“His decisions and the way he gets the ball out of there,” said one local HC about Schurr quarterback Aaron Cantu. “He looks great.”

Also set to have a big year is Spartan wide receiver/safety Chris Chiaromonte.

Anyone want Michael Vick now? I’m sure you can pick him up for a song.

San Gabriel HC Jude Oliva broke the cardinal rule of local coaches; he put a football in Tim Peterson’s hands yesterday during a toss with Los Altos.

Note to Oliva: You haven’t gotten back to me on Arthur Brown being guaranteed a minimum of 20 carries this season.

Rosemead looks thick, but not in a fat way. They look thick in a weightroom way.

No one is talking about the Panthers, and Matt Koffler is perfectly happy about it.

Covering the Wild Wild Valle Vista last night on the show we came away with the consensus being San Dimas…Although everyone is sold on Baldwin Park at number two, I was the only one leaning Wilson in the third spot.

Why Wilson? One, Brian Zavala owes me some fresh gear. Two, look at his offensive line.

I asked the The Mid staff who they liked to take it all in the Mid-Valley and Villathedevil said Schurr. Which, might be the smooch of death for Ben Negrete’s squad.

Negrete and staff will be in studio live on July 13th.

As the father of three, and a sight freak (meaning I’ve always obsessed about keeping my kids in sight), the story of former NFL quarterback Randall Cunningham’s two-year old son drowning in a hot tub yesterday makes me sick inside.

My heart and prayers go out to him and his family.

Stay thirsty my friends…
