(La Mirada) – San Juan Hills beat La Mirada 59-49 to win CIF Division 2A Championship Friday night on the Matadores home floor.
The Mats were up early leading by nine at one point in the second quarter but trailed by one, 27-26, at halftime. San Juan Hills then pulled away in the third quarter and went on to the victory.
Both teams are expected to play in the State Tournament. Pairings will be announced Sunday.
