- North Carolina beat Duke 81-77 Saturday night to advance to the NCAA Championship game. It marked the final game for legendary Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski who is retiring after 43 years at Duke.
- Kansas beat Villanova 81-65 to advance to the NCAA Championship game.

- The Dodgers traded AJ Pollack to the Chicago White Sox for reliever Craig Kimbrel Friday.
- The Angels designated outfielder Justin Upton for assignment. Upton is owed $28 million on the last year of his contract.
- The Lakers lost to the Denver Nuggets 129-118 Sunday to fall to 31-47 on the year. The Lakers are currently in 11th place in the Western Conference, two games behind the San Antonio Spurs for the last playoff spot.
- Baseball: Monrovia is 5-2, and in first place in the Rio Hondo league, one-half game ahead of Temple City, 4-2.
- Former Ohio State head coach Thad Matta has been hired as the new head basketball coach at Butler.
- Running back Frank Gore will sign a one-day contract with the San Francisco 49ers and retire with the team that drafted him. Gore played 16 seasons in the NFL, the first 10 with the 49ers.
- South Carolina beat UConn 64-49 Sunday night to win the NCAA Women’s basketball championship.
