People ought to know by know that “hired” is a relative term in the world of public high school sports. HLPUSD only has 1 school board meeting a month during April & May. The District did not clear him to begin working with kids (have to love the brass hiding behind “liability”) until Thursday’s Board Meeting. He met with the kids on Friday, and practice starts Monday. It’s crazy that even though guys can be credentialed teachers (FBI fingerprinted), currently in the classroom with students, maybe even coaching another sport currently, but once they begin in a new district, all the fingerprints and clearance process must be done all over again, and at their own out-of-pocket expense. What public high school coaches go through to coach, for pennies on the hour, is ridiculous, and they are heroes for doing it!

What’s going on at Los Altos? Ziola was hired months ago and hasn’t even started working with the kids yet.
