(La Puente)- Bassett has named Todd Quinsey has its new head football coach the school announced Sunday. Quinsey has had multiple coaching stops including head coaching stints at Northview and Glendora.
Quinsey takes over for Hector Spathias who resigned earlier this year to take over as the head coach at El Monte. Quinsey has over 20 years of coaching experience including assistant coaching positions at Chater Oak, Los Altos and Marshall.
Bassett won the Miramonte League title last year with a record of 4-1 and went 5-5 overall. The Olympians lost in the first round of the Division 13 CIF playoffs to Heritage Christian 30-28.
@Nancy: Are any social media forums positve? 95% of Yelp are negative. As are Google reviews and Mid Valley Sports.
Hi Nancy
I agree that the general theme here is less than uplifting and often argumentative . At the same time , it’s important to be honest and realistic about the topic at (Bassett hiring) hand so that things can actually move in truly positive direction .
Good luck with your season !
Cant anyone be’ positive here
yea I think coaches have better things to do then be on the blogs like you. Go to take your BS elsewhere.
Ok
And they went running clock on Bassett last year 36-0
And that was with Spat !
Cantwell is trash
DO : spathais forever living on the blogs under code names . Things never change can’t wait for football season !
I hope the kids return the last time they got rid of Spat kids didn’t come out and play again next season. It be interesting if player feed into this program. Spat was one of a kind great fit for Bassett. He and staff turned athletes into football players
About 50 kids at the bassett practice looked more like miget team in junior all American
Hmmm…… interesting . Well at least they named a coach . Tough job when your first game is 8 weeks from Thursday and everyone luvs the guy who just left …..
Not familiar with coach , did ok at Northview like 20 years ago , and one year stint at Glendora in tough Baseline league ten years ago……a lot has changed in high school football in the last decade !
What is Bassett doing scheduling Cantwell and Whittier ? The joys of Miramonte league with six games against feeble friends might allow some late season D14 type success but opener vs Cantwell will be brutal
Aug 18th DO Preps predicts Cantwell 54 Bassett 0
I only give Bassett a 50-50 chance of fielding a team. They may join Keppel in dropping football or maybe combine the teams.
