@two cents: These schools can not realisically field 8 man teams, 6 man maybe but that is not really football. Flag would be best and allow the ones that want to play football join any team they want while staying at their school. This would probably inject some needed numbers and strength into neighborhood programs. Out of the box thinking is needed. With the CIF Tsar retiring maybe we can get some real solutions not just juggling.
Pioneer, Mt View, workman, TC, Keppel, Blair, Gabrielino, Hoover, and two other questionable teams should petition CIF to become an 8- man league. Top 3 finishers go off to play the other 8 man leagues in riverside and desert schools.
Arroyo got destroyed. Maybe they were missing their secret weapon? FridayKnight were you there to tell the kids to get behind the line or assist the assistant? Maybe that’s why they got mauled.
Nobody should be pounding their chest after week 0. And no one should throw in the towel either.

Schurr slime at it again! The game was garbage. Cal played as bad as possible and Schurr played its best. It’s gonna be a long season for Schurr. Give me a break ….
Cal went up by 21 in the first. Then ran out of steam. Schurr capitalized on A LOT of missed tackles and two bad calls from the refs at the end of the game then lost due to a bad call. Schurr needs a kicker and Cal needs to work on fundamentals. Schurr still running the predictable old BG offense and defense. And Cal switched it up. Overall it was an exciting first game.

What a DELETED you are “Area”! Either give credit to Schurr for playing their DELETED off or to Cal for pulling it out. Cantankerous old man!!!
They pulled off the w, but having to resort to that to get the W over Schurr is pretty bad for a Del Rio league team.
Twitter is burning up saying with no time left the ref overruled the line judge when he ruled Schurr stopped Cal on 4th down a half a yard short of a TD. He awarded Cal a TD and the game. Video proved he was well short. If there is a teaching lesson here I don’t know what it is.

I feel La Canada finally has a solid team, but can they contend with powerhouse Monrovia for the Rio Hondo League title? They will be huge underdogs but my gut instinct predicts that La Canada will pull out a miracle victory in a huge upset with a 37-35 win.

We all know what’s going to happen with Pioneer and Keppel football going forward: solid wipeouts, with great risk of player safety. These two need to cancel their remaining games and simply play each other for some kind of participation award.
In an opposite situation, we all know what’s going to happen with Mater Dei and Bosco football going forward: massive wins, with nobody coming close to these recruiting monsters. These two should just play each other three times, with the team that wins two being named National Champions.

When Pioneer re-hired the losingest coach in Pioneer history for a second go around what did you expect? 3 points might have been nice. They made Bellfower with a -40 cal preps rating look like monsters.
Chino Hills-Glendora game most boring ever. Asked for my money back. Both coaches frightened of trying anything innovative. More worried about making a mistake than winning.
When is Pioneer going cut their football program? Glad to see Juarez has turned things around…
