(San Dimas) – Kody King threw a complete game, two-hit shutout as San Dimas blanked Bonita 1-0 Saturday at San Dimas High.

King was in control from the outset striking out two batters in the first inning. He fanned nine overall and walked three. The only hits he gave up were a single by Daniel Munoz in the third inning and an infield single to Jared Brunk in the fourth. Bonita never had a runner advance past second base.

Bonita’s Garret Patterson nearly matched King pitch for pitch.

King had to be at his best on a day when Bonita’s Garrett Patterson nearly matched him pitch for pitch. Patterson went the distance as well and gave only the one run. He struck out six and gave up three hits. He did hit three batters and walked two.

The only run of the game came in the third inning. Vaughn Coleman singled and came all the way around to score on a double to the left-centerfield gap by Landon White. That was all King needed as he made the lone run stand up.

The Saints loaded the bases in the fifth but Pattrerson was able to wiggle of the hook and with no damage.

King closed it out by retiring the side in order in the seventh on two strikeouts and a fly ball.

With the victory San Dimas improved to 4-2 while Bonita dropped to 4-1.
