sorry bud, I had REAL PE… with standardized times for mile and push-ups to pass the class in Jr. High. NO WALKING AROUND IN CIRCLES… bear crawls and duck walks before they said it was bad for knees.

My kids enjoyed PE like recess
    I enjoyed it
the few athletic kids who enjoy it end up leaving for higher division schools, its basic numbers.

lower schools hit the lottery if they get generational kids stay home.

Society? Aren’t you a part of society? Did you complain when you had PE and not want to dress. As a parent did you hold school districts responsible for not providing proper PE to your children. NO, probably not. Again, pointing fingers but not doing your part to fix things. Stop trolling and step up, has-been.

society has ruined athletics in our school…

kids don’t even do REAL PE anymore. half the exercise is dressing.

Wow. So much hate on here. Hey has-beens, understand that SGV football is not the same as OC, SFV, or the IE. The population of the SGV has changed dramatically over the last 40 years and will continue to change. Coaches and teams are doing there best to stay relevant. Long gone are the days of having three teams. Most schools barely have a roster of 40 varsity guys and maybe a frosh/soph team. But here you are complaining about who plays who and why are there so many divisions. Well if you don’t like it, do something about it. Ask your Mom if you can coach and make the 3000 dollar stipend working from aug. to nov. or go to CIF and log your complaints in person. Or just go watch div.1 games. Life is too short to sit there complaining and remembering how it was when you played. Step up and do something productive, because all this crying isn’t going to change anything.

Fake DO comparing D5 league and team to D13 Greenies
Keep scheduling your Rosemead Whittier Temple City preseason triumvirate so your strong in D13 off your Almont .3rd place finish

Don’t win too much and get placed in D12 , you will lose first round

Well I do know a loaded schedule will get you banged up. St. Paul is out there D1 QB. That’s a wrap on their season. That’s the difference. This isn’t badminton this is football. Coaches have to realize a tough schedule will leave you hobbled in November. The goal is to be playing on thanksgiving not watching your uncle yell at thanksgiving dinner.

Lets see what works? Does a upgraded schedule filled with losses help you make the playoffs or does a weak schedule loaded with wins get you in. St. Paul and La Puente could tell us.

I agree with much of your sentiment here , just not with your conclusion. I’m not saying that this is an easy task; I’m saying that each situation is different . You mention the importance of getting the athletes out for football; this includes changing the attitude and culture about football at the school , making football fun and appealing etc

I think we’re not being fair to the kids to just generalize about their demographics and accept bad football.
Thanks for the work you do at your school , and if that school is Keppel that’s the one school I wouldn’t attempt ….. the administrators are happy with current state of affairs as a basketball schools

I work security at one of these schools. The school is mostly Asian and maybe 1 or 2 Asian kids play football. All the best athletes don’t come out because they play basketball, but really Asian kids rarely play football. So these schools are at a big disadvantage against these other schools out of the area. The numbers matter and gab and Keppel just don’t have a big enough pool of kids to choose from.

Yeah San Gabriel pretty good compared to Maranathas Ironwood foes , schools in the middle of nowhere with 300-500 students such as Hamilton , Vazquez , Desert Christian

But nobody has more difficult circumstances than San Gabriel to work through to conjure their D13 magic

You’re lumping a lot of different schools together and giving some a free pass; Rosemead was good until last year and have dropped to bottom with new crew; Alhambra very good 18-19 and ok last year ;Gab always struggles and new coach had difficult situation to walk into with new hire abandoning ship in July; TC great history fell off map the past 5 years ; Keppel has always sucked and it’s a basketball school, admin doesn’t care .

I don’t agree with allowing programs to suck . There’s a lot of kids at all these schools and the right coach can build a strong program with dedication and the ability to teach ,and motivate kids to come out and play ! unfortunately, playing in the NFL or having active social media isn’t the path to program success! #rightcoach

Alhambra, Gab, temple city, Rosemead, Mark Keppel. All these schools are right next to each other. They share the same kids. The demographics in this area have changed big time. Tough to win at these places. I think you have to give those coaches a break. They are doing the lords work.

You’re right number 8 is good, and that guy needs more touches, but SG’s run game is tough to prepare for. Who runs the ball like that maybe Norwalk? 4 quarters of that down your throat is tough.

Tc isn’t doing what there supposed. There coaches aren’t making the right decisions, coaching is not good. They lost to San Gabriel because of how players are being used. Number 8 is just not being used. Tc is not implementing the best player by far in the league in there offense only using him as a decoy. Judah Douglas is the guy TC needs to go to we see when he has the ball in his hands hes explosive and cant be stopped. Just so disappointing from TC wasting a guy on that caliber.
