- Bronny James scored four points on 2 of 9 shooting in his Summer Legue debut Saturday as the Lakers lost to the Sacramento Kings 108-94.
- The Kings acquired free agent guard DeMar DeRozan on a three-year, $74 million sign and trade deal Saturday.
- Will Smith became the fourth catcher in Dodger history to hit three home runs in a game in an 8-5 win over Milwaukee Friday night. The other three are Roy Campanella, Mike Piazza and Yasmani Grandal.
- Giannis Antetokounmpo is heading to the Olympics for the first time after he scored 23 points to lead Greece to an 80-69 win over Croatia on Sunday. With the win the Greece Men’s basketball team qualified for the Paris Games.
- Former Pasadena standout guard Darius Brown II, who went on to play at Utah State, is on the Cleveland Cavaliers Summer League roster.
- Minnesota Vikings rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson and two former college football players were killed in a car crash early Saturday morning in Maryland. Jackson was selected by the Vikings in the fourth round of this year’s draft.
- Former Monrovia receiver Jaylen Moore, who played at Westlake last season, will play his senior season at Miami Edison High School.
- Six Dodgers made the All-Star Team: Shohei Ohtani, Tyler Glasnow, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith, Teoscar Hernandez.
- Former Las Vegas Raiders Coach Jon Gruden lost a bid for the Nevada Supreme Court to reconsider whether a contract interference and conspiracy lawsuit he filed against the NFL after he resigned should be heard in court or in private arbitration.
