  1. Teoscar Hernandez became the first Dodger to win the Home Run Derby Monday night. 
  2. The Americans League beat the National League 5-3 Tuesday night in the MLB All-Star game in Texas. The Red Sox’ Jarren Duran, who hit a two-run home run to break a 3-3 tie, was named the MVP. 
  3. Joe “Jellybean” Bryant, Kobe Bryant’s father, passed away at the age of 69. 
  4. The Dodgers went 23-24 before the All-Star break and their NL West Division lead dropped by only one game – from 8 to 7 games. 
  5. Fresno State head football coach Jeff Tedford stepped down due to health reasons. 
  6. San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has officially requested a trade. 
  7. The Chicago Bears signed rookie quarterback Caleb Williams to a four-year, $39.4 million deal with a $25.5 million signing bonus. 
  8. 12-year NBA veteran guard Patrick Beverly signed with a team in the Israeli Basketball Premier League.  
  9. Lakers’ rookie guard Bronny James shot 6 for 26 from the field including 0-12 from three-point range in his first three games in the NBA Summer League. 
  10. On this date in 1941 Joe Dimaggio’s 56-game hitting streak came to an end in Cleveland. The New York Yankees outfielder also had a 61-game hitting streak in 1933 playing in the Pacific Coast League.

    Jarod Lucas of local Los Altos High School played 7 mins for the Mavericks the other night, shooting 1-2 from. Ruins the arc with an assist
