- New England fired head coach Jerod Mayo after one season. The Patriots finished the season 4-13.
- Jacksonville fired head coach Doug Pederson after three years. The Jaguars finished the season 4-13.
- Former USC quarterback Malachi Nelson, who transferred to Boise State last year, has now transferred to UTEP.
- Former Monrovia star receiver Carlos Hernandez has transferred from Washington State to Wake Forest.
- Tampa Bay’s Mike Evans tied Jerry Rice’s record of 11 consecutive seasons of 1,000 receiving yards in the Buccaneers win over the New Orleans Saints Sunday.
- The Dodgers signed Korean infielder Hyeseong Kim to a three-year, $12.5 million contract. They also traded infielder Gavin Lux to Cincinnati for the 37th pick in the MLB draft and outfield prospect Mike Sirota.
- The Chicago Bears have sought permission to speak to Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy about their head coaching vacancy.
