Kick it!
The Detroit Lions have rewritten the book on a season ruined by injuries. Dan Campbell and his team have made the statement that injuries are no longer an excuse.
It’s just, how bad do you want it?

Jimmy Garoppolo was terrific for the Rams yesterday. But if something were to happen to Mathew Stafford, and Jimmy G. led the Rams on a Super Bowl run….I still wouldn’t bring him back to be anything more than a backup quarterback.

Trying to understand why the Baltimore Ravens, after Rashod Bateman’s close call, Zay Flowers’ knee injury, and the very next play, after Flowers goes down, the Ravens run a quarterback draw with Lamar Jackson…against the Browns, in Week 18.
And in a blowout, the Ravens had Jackson and Derrick Henry getting touches in the fourth quarter. Make it make sense.
Some will say: “Well, the Lions do it.”
Note to Ravens: “You’re not the Lions.”

Was Saturday Dorian Thompson-Robinson’s last appearance in the NFL?

Locally, Arroyo needs a head football coach. The smart thing would be to call Jesse Ceniceros.

It’s on to UTEP for Malachi Nelson.

NFL Playoffs:
Off The Top
Saturday:
Chargers at Texans—The Bolts have a shot…good matchup.
Steelers at Ravens—Baltimore’s the easy the pick, but if any opposing coach knows Lamar, it’s Mike Tomlin. Close? Yeah. Potential for an upset? Absolutely.
Sunday:
Broncos at Bills–Denver’s already won by reaching the playoffs…but Buffalo wins the game.
Packers at Eagles–If Jalen Hurts plays, if he’s healthy, it’s Philly…But then again, it’s Philly…cue the swallowing of the jalapeño.
TaxSkins at Buccaneers–This game should be a lot of fun… I’m going to dance with Tampa Baker.
Monday:
Vikings at Rams–Everyone will be taking Minnesota… that’s fine…but as a Rams fan, the idea of ending a very successful Vikings season has me salivating.
Yes, I’m still bitter.

For the record, I’ve never worked at FS1…and I was never sexually assaulted at FS1…However, I have been offended several times by FS1.
***
As a Rams fan, I love draft picks. The New York Jets have requested an interview with Rams executive Ray Farmer.
If Farmer becomes the Jets GM, the Rams get two third-round picks as compensation. One this year and one in 2026…break me off a piece of that!
***
Read a blip that said the MLB is considering taking action to stop teams—the Dodgers—from deferring so much money on their players’ contracts.
I think they should…right after the Mets get a few players inked to similar deals.
***
Next Add Rams: The Vikings got roughed up by a banged up Detroit defense…What an opportunity Chris Shula and his guys have next Monday night.
***
Why are the Chiefs always good?
Here’s an example: They got rid of Tyreek Hill and got five draft picks.
The Dolphins signed Hill to a 3-year/90-Rock contract extension…With 59 guaranteed…In 2025, he’s a 28.6-Rock hit…56.9-Dead.
Oh, and since trading Tyreek Hill, KC has won back-to-back Super Bowls, and they went 15-2 this year.
That’s why the Chiefs are always good.
***
As a Mets fan, I can’t think of a worse outcome than having Pete Alonso sign with the Yankees and former Yankee first baseman Anthony Rizzo sign with the Mets.

Last Add Rams:
I’ve seen a lot of push for the Rams to draft a TE this April. Everyone loves Penn State’s Tyler Warren.
Let’s look at the history of first-round TEs.
The Rams scored with Tyler Higbee in the 4th round in 2016, but since McVay arrived, the team has not given second contracts to Gerald Everett (2/44/2017) or Brycen Hopkins (4/136/2020).
Since the 2000 NFL Draft, 26 tight ends have been taken in the first round. Thirteen of them have been absolute busts.
The Best: Brock Bowers, Greg Olson, Jeremy Shockey, Todd Heap
Top TEs Right Now: George Kittle, Trey McBride, Mark Andrews, Jonnu Smith, Sam LaPorta, Travis Kelce–none were taken in the first round.
So I ran a Mock Draft…which currently has the Rams picking at #23, and low and behold—right there for me to take was the Nittany Lions’ Warren.
Believing you should never take a TE in the first round, I passed on Warren and took Ole Miss CB Trey Amos–good size, great year, 28th on PFF’s Draft Big Board.
And what happened to Warren? He went to KC at #32…

It’s January 6th; the Lakers and Clippers have each played 35 games…Jimmy Butler making a 48-Rocks is unhappy,…and I haven’t watched 48 minutes of NBA basketball this season.
I’d rather watch Charles Barkley instead.
The Dude abides…

OK, enough is enough with the 7on7 experiment of hiring Non-credentialed head coaches just to fill A position. A credentialed coach has a obligation to be held to a higher standard, not only in the classroom, but on the field as a representative of that school and district and community a non-credentialed coach has no obligation other than his own EGO A teacher must worry about doing the right thing at all times or guess what he may lose his job enough with these social media coaches that are degrading deteriorating High school Athletics.
Ceniceros made those dudes retire out of the Mission Valley. But yeah, those dudes are out there.
You know and I know who Arroyo is going to hire and it’s not Jesse. The assistant coach at Arcadia and the assistant coach at D-bar.
From Joe T.: To be honest, I’ve been out of the local prep scene for so long, I don’t know. I just knew that Ceniceros was out there. My hope is Arroyo is successful, too much tradition there.
