@ FBFan: February Madness in the CIF Southern Section. The more, the merrier, I guess.
Why can’t all sports keep the division labels the same way football does. Division 1 down to division “however many divisions there are.”
Now someone might say “hey we made it to the division 4A finals while our football team only made it to the division 10 finals” which is pretty much the same exact thing. These divisions also have 32 teams in a playoff bracket while football only has 16 so essentially 320 basketball teams make the playoff while only 224 football teams make the playoffs.
They are in Division 5A . This is the equivalent to D14 for football. I guess this is the magic of the new format , but objectively this means something quite different .
Basketball is one sport in which the teams representing the Alhambra Unified School District can all make the playoffs. Good luck to the Moors, Aztecs, and Matadors!
Now if the three schools (Alhambra, Mark Keppel, and San Gabriel) can only do that in football…
All 4 MVL teams are in it and they are home!
Good luck to all the locals in the quarters, but especially to the area’s best coach, Jeff Lucas of Los Altos.
