The UCLA football Bruins had a rough start in their first year in the Big-10 conference. They started the season by going 1-5 in their first six games but managed to turn it around towards the end of their 2024 campaign by compiling a three game win streak and finishing 4-2 in the second half of the season. UCLA also missed bowl eligibility by one game. With a full season under head coach DeShaun Foster’s belt, the Bruins will look to have a more successful 2025 season.
***Coaching Moves
Former Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy only lasted one year as the OC for the Bruins before he was fired after the season. Bieniemy however wasn’t unemployed long as he was announced to be the Chicago Bears running backs coach on February 2nd.
Assistant Coach Tino Sunseri will take over for the Bruins as offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach.
***Recruiting
The Bruins have the No. 50 overall recruiting class in the country and the No. 16 class in the Big Ten. The two best commits that the Bruins managed to sign were Cole Cogshell from John Muir (Pasadena, CA) and Karson Cox from Oak Hills (Hesperia, CA). Both signees are in the top 30 in the state of California.
UCLA also signed No. 34 best Transfer class in 2025. They were able to sway former 4-star cornerback Robert Stafford from Miami and 4-star Julian Armella from Florida St.
***Schedule
The Bruins will start the 2025 season against Utah on August 30 at the Rose Bowl and start Big 10 play against Northwestern on Saturday September 27.
The #16 recruiting class in the Big Ten does not sound good …..
The article puts a positive spin ( late 3 game win streak, missed a bowl by one game) , but 5-7 and losing to very average SC isn’t going to
cut it .
