  1. The Green Bay Packers beat the Washington Commanders 27-18 on Thursday Night Football. 
  2. The Commanders fear that running back Austin Ekeler may have torn his right Achilles in the fourth quarter of the loss to the Packers. 
  3. Packers’ receiver Jayden Reed broke his collarbone in the win over the Commanders. 
  4. Anthony Rizzo announced he will retire as a Chicago Cub after a 14-year career.
  5. Guard Landry Shamet is returning to the New York Knicks on a one-year deal. 
  6. New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge has tied Joe DiMaggio for fourth on the franchise home run list with 393. 
  7. The Dodgers completed a sweep of the Colorado Rockies Wednesday and are now 2.5 games ahead of the San Diego Padres in the NL West. 
  8. USC is favored by a 20.5 points over Purdue Saturday.
  9. UCLA is favored by 15.5 points over New Mexico Friday night at the Rose Bowl. 
  10. The Angels Mike Trout hadn’t hit a home run in 28 games, which was a career long drought, before finally hitting his 399th career homer Thursday night in a 7-6, 12 inning loss to the Seattle Mariners.
