(San Diego)- Texas Tech quarterback Davis Webb threw four first half touchdown passes to lead the Red Raiders to 37-23 victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils on Monday night at the National University Holiday Bowl.
Utah State Has Enough in Poinsettia
(San Diego) – Joey DeMartino rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown to lead Utah State to a 21-14 win over Northern Illinois Thursday night in the Poinsettia Bowl at Qualcomm Stadium. DeMartino sealed the deal with a one-yard run with 4:14 left in the contest to put the Aggies up 21-7.
Cougars Hold off Eastern New Mexico
(Glendora) – Troy Leaf scored 30 points to lead Azusa Pacific to a 75-69 win over Eastern New Mexico Wednesday night at the Felix Event Center. APU was down by two at the half but took the lead early in the second and maintined it the rest of the way.
Army Offers Schurr’s Sal Chavez
(Montebello) – Schurr Quarterback Sal Chavez has received an offer to play football at Army Schurr Coach Marco Ramirez said today.
Cacciatore, Cougars Get Their Kicks
(Glendora) – Azusa Pacific’s Jamie Cacciatore booted a 25 yard field goal as the clock hit zeroes to beat Dixie State 23-20 Saturday night at Citrus College. The Cougars scored ten points in the last two and half minutes to hold off Dixie and improve to 8-1 in the GNAC, 8-2 overall.
Cougars’ Balance Too Much for Western Oregon
(Citrus College) – Terrell Watson had a typical Terrell Watson night. He rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns to lead Azusa Pacific to a 38-28 win over Western Oregon Saturday night at Citrus College. Watson scored on runs of 36, 15 and 19 yards, all of them coming in the second half.
Cougars are Special in Central Washington
(Ellensburg, WA)- Azusa Pacific relied on special teams and defense to knock off Central Washington 24-17 on the road Saturday. With the victory the Cougars moved into sole possession of first place in the GNAC.
