(Arcata)- Azusa Pacific found itself down 28-0 and 35-7 before falling 42-17 to Humboldt State on Saturday night at Redwood Stadium in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference opener for both schools.

(Davis,CA)- The excitement was legit, understandable, but 4:27 into the first quarter Azusa Pacific University knew it was playing a team from another level. UC Davis went 74-yards to paydirt on its first drive and cruised to a 41-3 victory over APU on Thursday night in the season opener for both schools.

(Azusa)- Azusa Pacific head coach Victor Santa Cruz was happy with the first day in full uniform, but also expects it to be the worst day going forward. “If we progress and keep doing what we need to do to get ready of for (UC) Davis, then this should be our worst practice,” he said.
