Livingston gets Good News

Billy Livingston will be reevaluated Saturday; so far so good

(Covina) – So far the news is all good for Covina quarterback Billy Livingston. It wasn’t so good Thursday night when a hard hit by Baldwin Park’s Mario Rodriguez knocked him out of the game and into the hospital for evaluation.

Livingston was taken by ambulance at halftime from Covina District Field to the hospital after Rodriguez’ shot late in the second quarter. Livingston was scrambling down the field when he was leveled. But the picture is brighter today.

“Billy was released last night and he is at school today,” said Covina Coach Darryl Thomas. “He will be evaluated again on Saturday.”

Other than having his bell rung there appears to be no serious injury.

“He was not diagnosed with a concussion,” Thomas said.

Livingston has thrown for over 1800 yards and 16 touchdowns for the Colts who are 4-1 in the Valle Vista League and 7-1 overall.

What is Livingston’s status for Friday against Pomona?

“We will see,” Thomas said.
