Summer Mid Valley Old School Top 15

In late July is it too early for Top 10 or 20 lists? Probably, but most area schools are on dead period so we figured we would toss up an Old School Top 15 before everybody comes back. We’ve included Baldwin Park, Sierra Vista and Bosco Tech in our old school teams.

Schurr Domination 31-7

(Montebello)- Schurr picked the right time to have its best game of the season. The Spartans were nearly perfect on both sides of the ball as they dominated Baldwin Park 31-7 Friday night in the first round of the CIF Mid-Valley Division playoffs.

We listed the guys who chew up the yards on the ground. Now let’s take a look at who’s airing it out. Here are the quarterbacks who will be letting it fly in the Mid-Valley Playoffs and the yardage totals they have racked up so far – (1-16).

Livingston gets Good News

(Covina) – So far the news is all good for Covina quarterback Billy Livingston. It wasn’t so good Thursday night when a hard hit by Baldwin Park’s Mario Rodriguez knocked him out of the game and into the hospital for evaluation.

Venegas, Defense Carry Covina

(Covina) – Not a lot of people would be surprised to hear Covina beat Baldwin Park. But they would be surprised to hear the Colts won without quarterback Billy Livingston for an entire half.

(Covina) – Azusa probably wasn’t the team most people picked to win the SGV Shootout when the 18 team bracket was announced. But after knocking off Mid Valley Division contenders Whittier Christian in the semis and Monrovia in the Finals, The Aztecs were the champions of the Tournament Saturday at Gladstone High School.

Fulbright Leads Whittier Christian over Baldwin Park

By Saile Ramirez (Whittier) – Garrett Fulbright ran for three touchdowns to lead Whittier Christian to a 27-17 victory over Baldwin Park Friday night to advance to the CIF SS Mid-Valley Division Semi-Finals.
