A Closer Look at the……

Beginning today we look at the body work, players and projections for each league.

The body work is their win/loss record and how it holds up against others in the league and Southeast Division. We will look at some of the standout players during the previous week or season. The Mid will also project where they may finish with the remainder of the schedule left.

SUBURBAN LEAGUE

Mayfair (5-3, 4-0) – After a one year absence from the top spot in the Suburban the Monsoons are just one win away from clinching the title. Pre-season schedule was a good test run for what might be a Southeast Division playoff run.

BODY OF WORK: 33-27 overall record of opponents, 3-3 against teams with winning records.

Signature Wins: Norwalk (Southeast) 4-3, Valley Christian (Mid-Valley) 5-3

Signature Loss: None

Games Remaining:  10/29 @ La Mirada, 11/05 vs Artesia, 11/12 BYE (4-10 record remaining opponents)

Player of the Week: Jason Logologo – Good night against Bellflower with 124 yards and two touchdowns.

Projection: First

Norwalk (4-3, 2-1) – The Lancers are finally healthy and ready for the playoffs. Need to make sure they take care of business this week and not look ahead to La Mirada.

BODY OF WORK: 27-24 overall record of opponents, 2-3 against teams with winning records.

Signature Wins: St. Paul (Western) 5-2

Signature Loss: None

Games Remaining:  10/29 vs. Cerritos, 11/05 @ La Mirada, 11/12 @ Artesia (6-15 record remaining opponents)

Player of the Week: Elijhaa Penny – He can flat out play and now that he is at 100% the Lancers are awful dangerous.

Projection: Second

La Mirada (4-3, 3-0) – Are the Matadores as good as their league record show or are they frauds with wins against the “cupcakes” of the Suburban League. This week will be the big test for La Mirada as they face Mayfair.

Projection: Third

Bellflower (5-3, 2-2) – Buccaneers do what they need to do in terms of beating the lower tier teams. After a bye this week, Bellflower must take care of Cerritos to make the playoffs.

Projection: Fourth

Cerritos (2-5, 1-2) – Dons would need to finish 2-1 to make the playoffs this season. That will be a tough assignment for a team that has yet to beat a winning record team.

BODY OF WORK: 20-30 overall record of opponents, 0-3 against teams with winning records.

Signature Wins: None
