Good Morning!

T-Minus-24 until Manny Ramirez returns to Dodgers lineup

Word is Manny is working out very hard to be ready in July, but could he be let back on the field sooner for good behavior?…What if he tested positive for Wheaties?

One run against the Diamondbacks has a way of killing interest…

I’m actually excited about Roosevelt playing Alhambra this season…mainly because of El Cid…What a great post game that will be…

I call it the “Garrison Effect” (named after former M-Town HC Steve Garrison)…one carefully asked question of either Javier Cid or Gil Ruedaflores can produce enough of a quote to sustain a sportswriter for 10 weeks…

Of course one poorly timed column can produce the “Singiser Effect” at midfield following an Arroyo game…

And a well intended pre-game prognostication gone bad can produce the “El Monte Effect”…

Speaking of which, I think Lions quarterback Quang Phong right now, based on his work in 2008, is the best in the Mission Valley League…

The Philadelphia Eagles outstanding, albeit long in the tooth, running back Brian Westbrook is having ankle surgery on Friday and Tom Jackson along with the rest of the ESPN crew is readying their defense of Donovan McNabb for 2009.

When Philly gets off to a slow start, or McNabb is terrible, the gang at ESPN will share how he has never had talent around him and now Westbrook is falling apart. It never ends.

McNabb is the only quarterback in America that could be caught on camera holding a gun on a bank teller, with his jersey on, and ESPN would say it wasn’t him…And if it was him Jackson would find a way to say it was all Rush Limbaugh’s fault…or at least Zola Budd’s…

Seeking the obligatory John Scanlan observation of the day: We know how the Scanman feels about over working 20 to 21 year old pitchers, but how does he feel about 16-year old high school catcher Bryce Harper…Sports Illustrated’s freshly minted chosen one…?

Go Orlando!…And I’m not talking Phillips…

The Pirates dealt outfielder Nate McLouth to Atlanta for prospects, on Wednesday…I guess being 6.5 back at the start of June in Pittsburgh means its time to get ready for next year.

Hey former Dodger super prospect Joe Thurston has been spotted playing for the St. Louis Cardinals…

Is Tom Glavine worth the effort? I know he keeps his body in great shape, but his arm strength has been reduced to the horsepower of a ’74 Vega.

Stay thirsty my friends…
