The Bulldogs will need to come together one more time for a title

Good Afternoon!

I never saw such happy faces when the West Covina-Mayfair game reached the 6:30 mark of the fourth quarter and both teams had already used all of their timeouts.

I did feel for the Monsoons Evan Hunko and Justin Northern…It is very clear that Mid Valley Karma is not what it used to be…even worse for Hunko Friday was his birthday…Talk about an odd mix of Heaven & Hell…

Critique? Yeah…I would have taken a shot through the air when Mayfair was inside the Bulldog ten midway through the fourth.

You got Hunko, you got Theo Chambers…yes, use some play action, and take a shot.

Bad Dude: Deluxe Edition:

I’m sure he’s nice to his family, respectful to his coaches, and will go on to live a good life as a great husband and father… but if you saw Mauirce Dupleasis last night, you can understand why he scares the snot out of me.

Honestly, I believe this dude gets up in the morning and eats big bowls of “Linebacker Wheaties”… In mentality he reminds me of former Northview hitman Andrew Rodriguez.

Next week, whether it’s O.J. Medina or Giomani Johnson, I have this image of Dupleasis filling a gap and saying; “No soup for you!”

It was odd to hear Villathedevil say: “Oh, I have always been a George Johnson fan.”

Have not received my obligatory “I told you Village was tough” message from Whittier Christian DC Pete Karavedas. You have to understand Coach K. tells me that everytime we talk.

Didn’t see many coaches, other than the expected, at Ron Yary Stadium, but I heard it was a parade of coaching stars & staffs out at Glendale to see the Mid-Valley semifinal…

Hope Mike Minter and the rest of the M-Town coaching staff found their way over to Billy’s and enjoyed the Triple Ruben.

Mayfair ran only 15 plays in the second half last night.

Hunko only threw one pass in the second half…

Aaron Salgado…is the guy from Westco no one seems to no about…but that’s changing…

Because of the closeness of both games last night it seemed like everyone was living on the edge of a knife.

Neither Westco nor Mayfair wanted to give the ball back and continually went for it in fourth down situations. Of course the ultimate call was Sergio Gradilla’s decision to go for two in overtime.

Grant Escobar…could you make an argument for him being the Mid-Valley Division MVP?

Happy to hear Rudy Robles got in on offense again…and now he’s part of the passing attack. Mr. Robles, please make that check out to: Joe Torosian C/O Mid Valley Sports.

Thank you very much.

Any pick tonight will be right the pick. La Serna-Bonita is special and Monrovia-San Dimas is becoming Notre Dame-USC… (I won’t say who ND is)…

All four teams are a great story whether they win or lose…La Serna hasn’t been in this position in forever…Bonita almost as long (since 1999), San Dimas is the defending champ, and Monrovia…well everyone should know that story.

Best story of the week?

Tuesday night, off the air, Monrovia quarterback Nick Bueno telling us about the time Josh Lowden’s mom called and told him to leave practice. He needed to go home and clean his room.

Stay thirsty my friends…
