Good Morning!

T-minus-70 until “The Mid Valley Classic”

With the Dodgers playing in San Diego tonight you have to wonder where Manny Ramirez might have seen the best pitching this last week…Albuquerque or the Inland Empire…Definitely its not going to be at Petco Park…

What is “The Mid Valley Classic”? It’s Temple City at Arroyo on September 11th…

I was asked is it fair to single out TC-Arroyo…I answered that I don’t care about fair…If life was fair my staff would make the big money they make at the Star-Trib…The reason behind the attention to this game is because these schools have been going at it forever…

You want tradition, and the benefits that come with it…then pick a rival and keep that rival forever…Monrovia-Arcadia “The Hassle for Huntington Drive” should always be an opening act…

Remember its the fans that fill the stands…

Trevor Ariza does have a history of poor decisions…This is a guy who left UCLA after one season when he should have stayed longer. He’s never averaged double figures in points, and has never averaged more than 24 minutes a game…Why was it so easy for the New York Knicks and Orlando Magic to cash him out?

Answer: Because he’s a guy, with a lot of ability, but will always be just a guy. And now in a decision his agent says has nothing to do with money he goes to a Houston team, for roughly the same dough, that has lost Ron Artest and Yao Ming could very well be gone for the coming season. Not too good chief… “For dust you are, and to dust you will return.”

Ron Artest, besides being a cracked block, is a far superior basketball player than Ariza.

Amazing what a kind word can do…Scanlan mentions Bobby Abreu has being one of the most overlooked players of the decade in Quick Scans and Abreu goes out and blasts two against the Orioles last night…

I love the themes on the backs of the football teams during the summer workouts. Things like: “Championships Start Here”, “Pride & Poise”, “Im in!”, Arcadia always has the traditional “No Apache Down”…Temple City has employed two I’ve noticed; “Why Not Us?” and “Why Not Now?”

A few years ago I even saw one that said “Currahee”, which means Stand Alone and is a U.S. Airborne motto…I like them all…but I wish some were a little more realistic…What do you think they are putting on the shirts at Duarte? How about Keppel? Ganesha?

Something like: “Okay…”, “We Could Be in Trouble”, “The Media Sucks”…Ours is “Beat the Crap out of the Star-Trib!”

Stay thirsty my friends…
