Off The Cuff: July 10, 2009

So I finally read the entire “Mitchell Report”.  If your name is John Scanlan stop reading here.

I’m not as naive as everyone thinks.  I guess being the resident hick, you end up getting stereotyped with being a little slow.

What I did notice is there were quite a few former Dodgers that were named in the report.  All thanks to Todd Hundley (read the report).

Paul Lo Duca was in the report.  So I guess that part makes me sort of right.

Here is where Scanlan and I will disagree.

If you have one player (Chris Donnels)  that already tested positive in the minor leagues and even asked a trainer about it, then how can someone not say that the organization didn’t know about the “package” that was over nighted to Dodger Stadium so Lo Duca can begin a cycle?

Then what can or can not be read as the Dodgers knowing that he was on the stuff when the “Mitchell Report” quoted Dodger brass as stating he was off the steroids and if he was traded he would get back on the “stuff”.

I have no vendetta against the Boys in Blue.  I know how passionate Scanlan is, but to me that was a indictment to the suits as they knew the players were using.  Whether they forced them to use is a different story, nor did I say that.

Where I went wrong was stating that the Dodger head honchos encouraged Lo Duca, they didn’t the just discussed it amongst themselves.  But it is evident that the team did know about shipments being delivered.

That is the last you will hear about the “Mitchell Report”.

Also, just to show all of you Blue bleeding fans how much of a vendetta I don’t have by voting for Matt Kemp.

Now on to the NBA quickly.

Don’t expect to see Lamar Odom back with the Lakers.  The team is way over the salary cap and are having to pay quite a bit on the luxury tax.

Then again, anytime I have knocked any local teams it usually ends up the opposite of what I have said.

I really am hoping Scanlan doesn’t read this.  Fingers crossed.
