Off The Cuff: July 11, 2009

I told Scanlan not to read it.  He still did.

The Mitchell Report is now buried.  No need to talk about it any longer on to baseball.

When a team is struggling at the plate like the San Diego Padres, it is only a matter of time that they get no-hit.

Two nights ago San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum was two-plus innings away from getting  a no-hitter against the Padres.  Only to see his no-hitter go by the wayside in the 9-3 victory.

Fast forward to last night, when Jonathan Sanchez came one error away from a perfect game against the Friars.

What makes it even more incredible is he was demoted three weeks ago to the bullpen and got the call when Randy Johnson wen on the disabled list this week.

Even you would have said Sanchez was going to get the no-no before Lincecum I would have laughed.

On a non-laughing matter, did you see what happened to Erin Andrews on Thursday night?

She took a line drive shot to the chin.  It would be real easy to make a crude comment here but this a family show.

As pretty as she is, I would take Lindsey Soto over her in a heartbeat when it comes to reporting games.

Soto knows her stuff and is a real professional when it comes to being prepared.

Hopefully FOX will bring her back for the High School Game Of The Week.

Is it any real surprise that the Los Angeles Angels defeated the over-paid New York Yankees.  It seems that every season the Angels win the season series.

Last night, with Vlad Guerrero and Torii Hunter out, the Angels got pop from Kendry Morales and Erick Aybar.

On that note, its off to the SGV Shootout!  Stay safe everyone.
