Pasadena Outlasts Glendale

By Eddie Solomon

(Pasadena) – Brandon Cox did everything for Pasadena except serve the post game meal. He threw for 335 yards and three touchdowns, he rushed for 90 yards and three scores and he intercepted a pass in the end zone as time expired in the Bulldogs 47-46 win over Glendale Friday night in Pacific League action.

Nitro quarterback Evan Norton fired into the end zone on the game’s final play in an attempt to pull out a miracle only to see Cox fittingly there to preserve it for Pasadena.

Riian Simpson was Cox’ favorite target hauling in nine receptions for over 200 yards and three touchdowns. Cox completed 20 of 31 passes.

The Nitros put up some big numbers as well. Alex Yoon ran for 100 yards and scored three touchdowns and had nine receptions for 120. Norton completed 24 of 39 for 442 yards with 12 of those passes to Michael Davis. Davis racked up close to 250 yards in receptions.

Glendale dropped to 1-4 overall (0-2 in league) while Pasadena improved to 2-3 and 1-1.
