Maranatha's Darien McGee Receives Offer to Trinity International
(Pasadena) – Maranatha receiver Darien McGee has received an offer to play at Trinity International University in Illinois his mother, Saleama Ruvalcaba, said Tuesday.
“He didn’t have a lot of playing time from his freshman through his junior years of high school, so for him to be offered a scholarship to play in college is very exciting for us,” Ruvalcaba said.
McGee had 45 catches for 662 yards and seven touchdowns, a 14.71 per catch average. He also carried the ball 18 times for 209 yards and five scores. He also was a dangerous kick returner with 11 returns for 533 yards.
Maranatha finished 8-3 overall and advanced to the Mid-Valley playoffs before losing in the first round to eventual CIF Finals participant San Gabriel.
Trinity International is located in Deerfield, Illinois.
