(Glendale)- With Brandon Jolley and defensive specialist Perris Hicks both feeling the effects of illness, Pasadena fell behind early but rallied late to beat Glendale 65-53 Monday night at Glendale High.

The Bulldogs trailed from the opening tip off until 5:43 left in the fourth when Ajon Efferson’s weaving runner tied it at 46.

Pasadena, trailing Glendale by as many as 11 points in the third quarter, capped an overwhelming 31-6 run into the final minute of the contest.

Blake Hamilton broke the deadlock with a crowd-gasping coast-to-coast drive for a 48-46 lead before Efferson reeled it out to Chris Hanayan downtown for a huge 3-pointer that put PHS up by five, 51-46. Hanayan was also instrumental on the boards for the Bulldogs as he hauled in four rebounds and a steal, all in the fourth.

David Yetenikyan sparked one more time for the Dymaniters with a hook to make it a three point affair at 51-48 which was as close as Glendale would get.

Pasadena then diffused the Nitros for good by closing out with a 14-4 run to get the victory.

Pasadena (10-5, 3-0) picked up its 10th win of the season and stood perfect in Pacific league play.

Efferson poured in half of his 22 points in the fourth also finishing with 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Blake Hamilton scored 19, collected 6 rebounds, a steal, and posted 4 blocks. Hicks scored all his 5 in the third including an and-one conversion.
