"We went dancing...across the USA"

“The Across America Edition”

Good Morning!

T-minus-27 until “The Mid Valley Classic”

Game Six: CIF 2nd Round: November 24, 1978 at Temple City

In the first post-season match between the schools one thing does change. It’s not a shutout. Still the Rams worked Arroyo for a 40-6 victory…Starring, as always, for TC was running back Mike Sharp and a defense headed by Dan Mikolasko, Xavier Lorenz, Gary Bronson, and Gary Riley.

Many times I’ve gone to the ballpark and thought, man, I would love to be…fill in a players name…But I doubt if I will ever go to a ballpark again and wish I was Adrian Beltre…

I am very optimistic about the St. Louis Rams chances in 2009…In 1999 they won the Super Bowl…In 1989 they won two playoff games on the road and made it to the NFC Championship…In 1979 they went to the Super Bowl…In 1969 they opened the season with 11 straight wins… (I’m not tea leafing at all) You can look it up…

In spite of what most may think, I can turn down a meal on vacation…a local here in Four Oaks, North Carolina wanted to take us to an authentic country restaurant where the specialty is frog legs…Needless to say we went Pasadena on that one…I also avoided the lamb fries and Rocky Mountain Oysters on this trip…

Must admit vacation and football have caused me to take my eyes off the Dodgers…Is Pepe Frias on the team? Gilberto Reyes? Gary Ingram?

So far so good for the Jets. At least they know Mark Sanchez is not Browning Nagle…Time will tell whether or not he’s Richard Todd…

On the other hand Kyle Orton with three picks in his first three series as the Broncos starter has proven he’s not John Elway, Jay Cutler, Craig Morton, or Charley Johnson…Time will tell whether or not he’s Norris Weese or Craig Penrose…

Any takers on Josh McDaniels not finishing the season as Denver’s head coach…?

“Another beautiful day in the corps…A day in the corps is like a day on the farm,” Sergeant Apone says…My day on the farm had me cruising country back roads, harvesting watermelon, peppers, tomatoes, and okra, gasping at tank sized spider webs, and looking at dynamited moonshine stills from 90 years ago…

Stay thirsty my friends…
