Corey Copping Commits to Oklahoma

(Temple City) – Temple City pitcher Corey Copping has committed to Oklahoma Ram Coach Barry Bacon confirmed. Copping received an offer from the Sooners a couple of weeks ago and then took a visit to the campus.

“He’ll be in Norman in September,” Bacon said Thursday after Temple City beat Monrovia 4-1 to clinch the Rio Hondo League crown.

Copping was very impressive last year pitching in the summer leagues and also had the attentions of recruiters and scouts earlier this year in a tournament in Las Vegas.

Copping is 7-1 this season with an ERA of 1.09 and 65 strikeouts. Copping got his start pitching in Litttle League throwing for the TCA Angels at Live Oak Park.
