Just Passing Through CV

Hear Yee, Hear Yee! Arcadia has a new quarterback in Zack Yee

(Crescenta Valley) - We took a drive down the 210 freeway Saturday to check out the passing tournament at Crescenta Valley. CV hosted Pacific League teams Arcadia, Burroughs and Hoover. Other schools participating included Hart, Saugus, Valencia, Eagle Rock, LA Wilson, Verdugo and LA Marshall.

Arcadia is breaking in a new quarterback in Zack Yee and considering he has big shoes to fill in the graduating Myles Carr, he was throwing the ball extremely well. Burroughs has some work to do and the players were hearing just that from HC Keith Knoop. Hoover is in the rebuilding mode while CV lost some key players to graduation. Here’s a few shots of the Tourney…there will be plenty more to come.

OK I guess everybody is wearing the head gear

Out of our coverage area but this kid from Valencia had a gun

    I feel better, after a decade of football blogging someone finally discovered my true path! That of a clandestine racist, hiding in plain sight, fighting through censorship to infiltrate and destroy the Asian community from within!!!

    @NewRam,

    You think your play on words is harmless, some ignorant people think stereotypes are harmless too! Just because it was directed towards the Asian people you think you get a free pass. Your post is a generalization, not all Asian surnames are single syllable two or three letter words. Your response does not make your previous post any less ignorant. Like most racist you will continue to think you did nothing wrong because the media still allows small jabs at the esxpense of the Asian community to go unchecked! Just man up an admit your comment was not horribly wrong but better off not being made at all!

    Bulldogshavebitebutlackreadingcomprehension,

    Like so many other SG valley schools, TC football has benefitted greatly from those Asian kids who participate. The names are too many to list, and include several ALL-RHL selections. Josh Simungunsong and Steven Fei come to mind. Both tough kids, aggressive, competitive, quick and exceptionally strong for their body size. Solid team players you want on your roster.

    I support all kids participating in high school athletics. How you find offense in a post about one syllable last names – is an issue for you and your therapist.

    @NewRam,

    That’s pretty offensive and ignorant man, grow up. Besides, TC and other programs in the area will be happy to have enough kids to field a team no matter what origin their names come from!

    Yeah I can’t wait for the TC announcer to scream “Lee pitches to Li, who hands to Lu who laterals to Ho – who goes all the way on the double reverse.
    If the Rams ever decide to put names on the jerseys – The TC uniform embroidery costs will be kept low…I mean Lo.

    If you speak of Mr. Yee, he is half Chinese half Mexican. And yes I agree, some od these kids of Asian decent are actually pretty big! Don’t believe ne go to Santa Anita Mall and check out the little Asian kids in the strollers or walking, some of them are Monsters in the making. Even Monrovia has its own Asian Lineman. Kid is good too!

    I’m glad to see more Asian parents are starting to allow their kids to compete in American Football. I hope this trend continues, especially given the demographics of a lot of West SGV cities like Arcadia, Temple City, Rosemead, San Marino, Alhambra etc…
