1. Rutgers fires basketball coach Mike Rice after a videotape shows him shoving, grabbing and throwing balls at players and using gay slurs during practice.
2. Tom Brady works out throwing passes to Terrell Owens at USC.
3. Former Laker Javaris Crittenton is indicted in Atlanta on charges of murder and gang acitvity.
4. Carmelo Anthony scores 40 points to lead the Knicks to a 95-82 win over Atlanta, their tenth straight victory.
5. Wichita State in the Final Four for the first time since 1965.
6. The Atlanta Falcons sign Brian Banks, who was exonerated of rape charges a year ago. Banks spent five years in prison for the crime.
7. Steve Alford’s son Kyle, who had signed a letter on intent with New Mexico, is now headed to UCLA.
8. If the playoffs started today the Lakers would be the eighth seed in the West and would face San Antonio. The Clippers would be fourth and would have the home court vs. Memphis.
9. Arcadia’s Austin Georgen: 0.32 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 22 innings pitched.
10. On this date in 1983 North Carolina State stunned Houston 54-52 to win the NCAA Championship.
